Council Information Office held a 

press conference. Chen Yajun, 

Deputy Secretary General of the 

National Development and Reform 

Commission told the press that the 

regional GDP of the Chengdu-

Chongqing economic zone in 2024 

is expected to reach RMB 8.6 

trillion, up from less than RMB 6.3 

trillion five years ago and by two 

trillion in just five years. The 

regional GDP accounts for over 6.5 

percent of the country’s total, with 

the proportion up from 6.3 percent. 

The economic zone serves as an 

important engine of growth for 

leading high-quality development 

in its western region and even the 

whole country. These two regions 

have stepped up efforts to co-build 

four trillion-level industrial clusters 

focused on electronic information, 

equipment manufacturing, advanced 

materials, and locally distinctive 

consumer goods. This economic 

zone accounts for over 10 percent 

of China’s auto production and 

electronic information industrial 

output. The production services 

sector has experienced significant 

growth, with modern and high-

efficient agriculture being swiftly 

advanced, and the recognition and 

prestige of the Bashu cultural 

corridor have been consistently 

enhanced.

1月9日上午10时，国务院新闻办公室举行新闻发布会。国家发展改革委副秘书长陈亚军介绍，从经济总量看，五年前，双城经济圈地区生产总值不足6.3万亿元，2024年预计增长到8.6万亿元，五年迈上了两个万亿元级的台阶，占全国的比重由6.3%提高到6.5%以上，对西部地区乃至全国高质量发展的支撑带动作用明显增强。从产业体系看，两地共建电子信息、装备制造、先进材料、特色消费品等四大万亿级的产业集群，汽车产量、电子信息产值占全国的1/10以上。生产性服务业蓬勃发展，现代高效特色农业加快培育，巴蜀文化走廊知名度、美誉度持续提高。

Global Salons were officially 

launched worldwide, simultaneously 

debuting in Chengdu, Singapore, 

Malaysia, and Thailand. This 

initiative aims to establish a new 

platform for cultural tourism 

exchanges and economic 

cooperation. By utilizing the 

international outlets of Chengdu-

based enterprises, these global 

salons will highlight Chengdu’s 

urban identity and foster cultural, 

tourism, and economic interactions, 

thereby enhancing Chengdu’s 

international profile. The project 

aspires to bolster Chengdu’s 

capabilities in international 

communication and offer 

comprehensive support for its 

development as a center for 

international exchanges in western 

China. The salons currently feature 

a variety of formats, including city 

exhibition areas, international 

exchange events, and guest 

reception spaces, and others.
