On January 1, 2025, President 

Xi Jinping and his wife Peng 

Liyuan sent a New Year card in 

return to representatives of high 

school teachers and students in 

the U.S. State of Washington, 

extending their New Year 

wishes and saying that 2025 

marks the 80th anniversary of 

the victory of the Chinese 

People's War of Resistance 

against Japanese Aggression 

and the World Anti-Fascist War. 

During the Second World War, 

China and the United States 

fought together for peace and 

justice, and the friendship 

between the two peoples stood 

the test of blood and fire and 

is growing ever stronger. Xi 

Jinping and Peng Liyuan 

expressed their hope that the 

youth of China and the United 

States will continue to actively 

participate in the initiative of

Americans to China on

in the next five years,

A new high-speed train service 

connecting Chengdu and 

several tourist destinations in 

southern Sichuan and Yunnan 

province, including the famous 

Shangri-La scenic spot, is to be 

put into operation on January 

5, 2025.

Number D239, which departs 

at 8:40 from Chengdu South 

Railway Station and arrives at 

Shangri-La in Yunnan at 19:32, 

will be the first direct high-

speed train from Chengdu to 

Shangri-La, with a total time 

of 10 hours and 52 minutes. 

The train will run along a 

course with stops at Xichang 

West Railway Station, 

Panzhihua South Railway 

Station, Yuanmou West Railway 

Station, Guangtong North 

Railway Station, Lijiang 

Railway Station and 

Xiaozhongdian Railway Station.

China Railway shows that 

second-class ticket sells at 

RMB 439, first-class ticket at 

RMB 702 and business ticket at

RMB 1462. Ticket reservation 

has opened to the public.

新开行的D239次列车，8点40分从成都南发车，19点32分到达香格里拉，全程10小时52分钟，首次实现了成都至香格里拉的动车直达，途经西昌西、攀枝花南、元谋西、广通北、丽江、小中甸等站点。铁路12306公布票价显示，成都南至香格里拉二等座票价439元，一等座票价702元，商务座票价1462元，现已可以预订。
