On March 16, "Meet at Chinese Corner" 

was launched in the International 

Community of Wenjiang University 

Town, signifying the launch of 

Wenjiang's first dedicated spot for 

international residents to communicate 

in Chinese. Since then, 12 

communication and experience 

activities have been held, attracting 

184 foreigners from 12 countries and 

regions who live, work or study in 

Wenjiang.

自3月16日，温江首个外籍人士汉语交流点——“域见”汉语角在大学城国际化社区启动以来，已累计举办各类交流体验活动12场，吸引了来自12个国家和地区，在温江生活、工作、留学的184人（次）外籍人士参与。

Chinese teacher Li Xiaojie still 

remembers the scene of the first "Meet 

at Chinese Corner" themed event, in 

which she shared the traditional food 

and cultural attractions of Chengdu and 

Wenjiang. Through the "creation" topic, 

she guided international residents to 

communicate in Chinese.

汉语老师李晓洁还记得第1场主题活动时的画面，在那场活动中她分享了成都和温江的传统美食、文化景点。通过“创造”话题，引导外籍人士用汉语进行交流。

Maitee from Laos who has been studying 

in Wenjiang for nearly a year 

participated in the event. He told the 

reporter that through this exchange, he 

had a deep impression of the city names 

of Chengdu and Wenjiang, as well as the 

local specialty snacks. "The delicacies 

have broadened my understanding of 

the city where I reside," he said.

来自老挝的伟迪参加了那次活动，他已经在温江留学了近一年。他告诉记者，通过这次交流，他对成都和温江的城市名字以及本地特色小吃印象深刻。“美食让我对生活在这里的城市有了更多了解”。

In April, 11 international residents from 

Wenjiang signed up as "experience 

ambassadors." Under the guidance of the 

staff, they went to the Wenjiang Sub-

venue of the International Horticultural 

Exhibition 2024 Chengdu to experience 

the tour route of the sub-venue and the 

charm of Sichuan-style bonsai and 

provide suggestions on the bilingual 

signs.

4月，11名在温外籍人士报名担任“体验官”，在工作人员的引领下走进世园会温江分会场，体验世园参观流线和川派盆景风情，并为双语标识提出意见建议。

Communicating and Interacting

Rehamn Haris, who is also studying in 

Wenjiang, signed up for the "China's 

Wushu Culture Experience" activity. 

He learned the holding fist salute, basic 

gestures of fist and palm, and basic 

stances such as horse stance, bow stance 

and empty stance together with Chinese 

citizens and Chinese teachers. "Today's 

exercise was so fun!" He said that he 

had learned about China's traditional 

Wushu culture through films before, 

and he was a fan of some Wushu film 

actors. He also said that it was a 

rewarding experience to interact with 

Chinese Wushu masters at close range.

同样在温江留学的Rehamn Haris报名参加了“中国武术文化”活动，与中国市民、中国老师一起学习中国武术的抱拳礼，拳、掌基本手型以及马步、弓步、虚步等武术基本步型。“今天的练习太有趣了”，他表示此前就通过电影了解过中国武术传统文化，也有喜欢的武打明星，这次能够近距离参与互动，收获很多。

In June, a Dragon Boat Festival cultural 

experience activity was held 

simultaneously in the Qilin Community 

and the University Town Community. 

In the Qilin Community, the staff 

introduced the folk customs of the 

Dragon Boat Festival to the foreign 

participants and led them to get sachets, 

wash their hands with calamus water, 

and then tie colorful threads.

6月，一场端午文化体验活动同时在綦临社区和大学城社区举行。在綦临社区，工作人员一边向参加活动的外籍人士介绍端午习俗，一边带领大家领取香囊、用菖蒲水洗手，再系上五彩线。

"It's my first time to experience the 

interesting folk customs of the Dragon 

Boat Festival in China. I have made 

many friends here," said Wang Yirui 

from Malaysia. Gao Li from the 

Republic of the Congo recorded the 

scene with his mobile phone. "I always 

associate the Dragon Boat Festival with 

dragon boats and zongzi. This is not my 

first time experiencing this festival in 

China. But this time, I want to make a 

video of it so that my friends in Africa 

can also learn about China's traditional 

culture and my life in Wenjiang."

“第一次跟大家一起来体验端午节的习俗，非常有趣，来这里还交到了很多朋友”，来自马来西亚的王艺睿说到。而来自刚果（布）的高力则用手机记录着现场，“提到端午节，我就会想到龙舟和粽子，这已经不是我第一次在中国体验端午文化了。但这一次我想用视频记录下来，让远在非洲的朋友们也能了解中国的传统文化以及我在温江的生活”。

Sofia from Colombia had been learning 

Chinese by herself and listening to 

podcasts to practice Chinese listening. 

As soon as she knew about the Chinese 

Corner, she signed up to participate. 

"I really love the Chinese language and 

want to learn it well, and start my own 

business in China."

哥伦比亚的Sofia此前一直在自学汉语，通过听播客练习汉语听力。知道汉语角开设后，她第一时间报名参加。“我非常喜欢汉语，想学好汉语，自己在中国创业”。

"Meet at Chinese Corner" is an 

important platform set up by the 

Foreign Affairs Office of Wenjiang 

District in 2024. It is closely related to 

the "Chengdu is My Home" project for 

international residents, aiming to depict 

the good atmosphere created for 

foreigners developing in Wenjiang with 

the concept of "Wenjiang, A Warm 

Family." The second "Meet at Chinese 

Corner" themed event will be held in the 

second half of this year. Moreover, 

"Meet at Chinese Corner" is set to 

welcome international participants from 

Wenjiang to enroll in the University 

Town International Community Expats 

Voluntary Service Team on a long-term 

basis and engage in the various 

community service activities it organizes.

“域见”汉语角是区外事办在2024年搭建的重要平台。它紧扣外籍人士“家在成都”工程，旨在以“温江一家亲”的理念描绘外籍人士在温江发展的良好氛围。据悉，第2期汉语角活动将于下半年继续举办。同时，汉语角长期接收在温外籍人士报名加入大学城国际化社区外籍志愿服务队伍，参与到由社区组织的各类公益服务事业中。
