The year 2024 marks the 60th 

anniversary of the establishment of 

diplomatic relations between China and 

France, coinciding with the Franco-

Chinese Year of Cultural Tourism. 

Cultural exchanges between China and 

France will span the entire year.

2024年是中法建交60周年，也是中法文化旅游年。中法之间的各项文化交流将贯穿一整年。

On June 3, a delegation of 14 young 

people from Wenjiang District, Chengdu, 

arrived in the international sister city, 

Autun, France.

6月3日，一支14人的成都市温江区青少年访问团抵达了国际友城—法国欧坦市。

Here, they attended French literature 

and music courses, tried their hands at 

French pastry making, explored the 

ancient town of Autun to learn about 

French history and architecture, and 

engaged in art sketching in the streets. 

They introduced Chinese cultural 

treasures, including the ancient poem 

Quiet Night Thought, the Sichuan folk 

song Beaming with Joy at Sunrise, and 

the traditional Chinese Baduanjin 

qigong, to their young peers in Autun.

在这里，他们走进法国文学、音乐课程，动手实践法式烘焙，来到欧坦古城了解法国历史和法式建筑，参与街头美术写生。他们将中国古诗词《静夜思》、四川民歌《太阳出来喜洋洋》、中华传统“八段锦”带给了欧坦的青少年朋友们。

Elementary School, Teacher Emmanuel 

taught us French songs with a gentle 

voice. We were all immersed in the 

wonderful music, blending our voices 

with those of the French children. 

Teacher Li taught everyone the Sichuan 

folk song Beaming with Joy at Sunrise, 

and the French children sang along, 

mimicking our tones, and filling the 

room with joyful singing. I tried to 

communicate and have fun with them 

using the French I had just learned.

2024年5月6日，习近平主席同法国总统马克龙共见记者时指出：加快人文交流“双向奔赴”。以中法文化旅游年为契机，推进教育、体育、影视、青年、地方等合作。

国际友城是开展和推进中外交流合作的重要桥梁。两年来，温江以中法建交60周年为契机，立足在法友城资源，持续聚焦青少年文化、教育交流，不断增进中法青少年之间的沟通互鉴。

On November 17, 2023, Wenjiang 

District and the city of Autun signed a 

Memorandum of Understanding on 

Establishing Friendly Cooperation, 

formally establishing a friendly 

cooperative relationship between the 

two. Both parties agreed to strengthen 

exchanges and cooperation in areas such 

as education, culture, sports, and 

industry, continuously deepening the 

friendship between the two places.

2023年11月17日，温江区与欧坦市签订《建立友好合作关系备忘录》，两地正式建立友好合作关系，双方约定加强在教育、文化、体育、产业等领域的交流合作，持续深化两地友谊。

On November 23, 2023, the Lumina Coeli 

from France, consisting of 13 teachers 

and students, visited Wenjiang at the 

invitation of the Foreign Affairs Office 

of the People's Government of Wenjiang 

District. They spent three days engaging 

in cultural exchanges with the young 

people of Wenjiang.

On April 24, 2024, Wang Jun, Deputy 

Secretary of the CPC Wenjiang District 

Committee and District Mayor of 

Wenjiang , met with Vincent Chauvet, 

Mayor of Autun in France. Both sides 

agreed to use the 60th anniversary of 

the establishment of China-France 

diplomatic relations as a springboard 

to further strengthen and deepen 

interactions in cultural and educational 

domains while also driving and 

broadening cooperation in the 

economic and trade fields.

On June 1, 2024, the Works Exhibition 

for Wenjiang International Sister Cities 

Youth Creative Design Competition, 

themed "Meeting at International 

Horticultural Exhibition 2024 Chengdu, 

Painting a Brilliant Green Land with the 

World", took place at the Wenjiang Sub-

venue of the International Horticultural 

Exhibition 2024 Chengdu. Teenagers 

from six countries created vivid cartoon 

images of horticultural plants with the 

theme of "Me and My Plant Elves", 

showing their profound understanding 

of nature and ecology from an 

adolescent perspective. Among them, 

the City of Autun in France selected 

two teenage works to participate in the 

competition and exhibited them.

2024年6月1日，“域见世园会·与世界共绘烂漫绿意—温江国际友城青少年创意设计大赛作品展”在成都世园会温江分会场启动。6个国家的青少年以“我和我的植物精灵”为主题，手绘创作出惟妙惟肖的园艺植物卡通形象，以青少年的视角展示对自然和生态的深刻理解。其中，法国欧坦市选送2名青少年作品参加了本次比赛并展出。
