On September 19, the "Chengdu Ireland 

Week" Launch Ceremony and "Chengdu-

Europe Industry Dialogue" China 

(Chengdu)-Ireland Biopharmaceutical 

and Medical Technology Seminar took 

place at the Business & Innovation 

Centre for China-Europe Cooperation 

(CCEC). This event was jointly sponsored 

by the Foreign Affairs Office of the 

Chengdu Municipal People's Government 

and the Embassy of Ireland in China.

and Chengdu Medical City were partly 

responsible for undertaking the event. 

9月19日，由成都市人民政府外事办公室、爱尔兰驻华大使馆联合主办的“成都·爱尔兰周”启动仪式暨“蓉欧产业对话”中国（成都）—爱尔兰生物医药和医疗科技交流对接会在中国—欧洲中心举行。成都市温江区人民政府外事办公室、成都医学城参与承办了本次活动的交流对接。

H.E. Dr Ann Derwin, Ambassador of 

Ireland to China, and Wu Hao, Vice 

Mayor of Chengdu Municipal People's 

Government attended the event and 

delivered speeches respectively. Other 

attendees include Deputy Head of 

Mission Barry Mulligan, and First 

Secretary Derek Lambe of the Embassy 

of Ireland in China, representatives of 

the IDA Ireland and Irish enterprises in 

the field of medicine and health care, 

relevant heads of the Foreign Affairs 

Office of Chengdu Municipal People's 

Government and Chengdu Hi-tech 

Industrial Development Zone, Dong 

Yong, Deputy Secretary of CPC 

Wenjiang District Committee and 

Secretary of Party Working Committee 

of Chengdu Medical City, as well as 

representatives of more than 10 

Wenjiang pharmaceutical and health 

enterprises such as Kelun-Biotech, 

Orient Gene and Sirtex Medical.

爱尔兰驻华大使安黛文、成都市人民政府副市长吴皓出席活动并分别致辞。爱尔兰驻华大使馆副馆长睦百瑞、经济参赞李德润，爱尔兰投资发展局和爱尔兰医药健康领域企业代表，成都市政府外办和成都高新区有关负责人，温江区委副书记、成都医学城党工委书记董勇，科伦博泰、东方基因、社泰医疗等10余家温江医药健康企业代表参加会议。

During the event, H.E. Dr Ann Derwin, 

Ireland's Ambassador to China, 

highlighted the remarkable progress 

that Ireland has made in various fields 

such as biopharmaceuticals, medical 

technology, agricultural technology, 

finance, and information technology. 

She also mentioned that Ireland is rich 

in natural resources and expressed the 

desire to further enhance exchanges in 

culture, tourism, education, economy 

and trade, science and technology, and 

other areas. 

在活动中，爱尔兰驻华大使安黛文表示：爱尔兰在生物制药、医疗技术、农业科技、金融、信息技术等领域发展突出，同时自然资源丰富，期待进一步增强彼此文化、旅游、教育、经贸、科技等领域交流。

In recent years, Wenjiang District has 

experienced continuous growth in the 

biomedical industry, thanks to its strong 

industrial foundation, resource 

advantages, and technological 

innovation capabilities. The district has 

been commended by the State Council 

for its efforts in cultivating and 

developing strategic emerging industries. 

Ireland, on the other hand, has a strong 

presence in the life sciences sector and 

is a major global manufacturing hub for 

biomedicine, as well as a leading 

provider of medical technology. This 

presents numerous opportunities and 

promising prospects for bilateral 

cooperation.

近年来，温江区在生物医药产业持续蓬勃发展，拥有良好的产业基础、资源优势和科技创新能力，并被国务院督查激励表扬为大力培育发展战略性新兴产业。爱尔兰在生命科学领域实力强劲，是全球生物医药重要的制造中心和最主要的医疗科技供应商之一。双方合作机遇良多、前景广阔。

During the seminar, companies and 

industry organizations from Chengdu 

and Ireland engaged in productive 

dialogues and exchanges regarding 

cooperation in the pharmaceutical and 

health sectors, with a focus on accurately 

aligning the needs of both parties.

在“蓉欧产业对话”中国（成都）—爱尔兰生物医药和医疗科技交流对接会上，蓉爱两地企业和行业机构围绕医药健康产业合作踊跃开展对话交流、精准匹配双向需求。

Chengdu Medical City also presented 

a comprehensive overview of itself, 

including its basic information, 

industrial strengths, innovative resources, 

support factors, and living scenarios. 

In recent years, Chengdu Medical City 

has been dedicated to establishing itself 

as a leading national biomedical industry 

hub, driving the integrated development 

of medicine, pharmaceuticals, and 

medical industries, as well as big data 

and AI industries. It serves as the main 

platform for innovative drugs, high-end 

medical devices, high-end diagnosis 

and treatment industries, and the 

coordinated development of big data 

and AI industriesin Chengdu. Currently, 

Chengdu Medical City has attracted 582 

pharmaceutical and health enterprises, 

covering various aspects such as 

medical research and development, 

pharmaceutical and medical device 

manufacturing, and medical services. As 

it embarks on a new journey, Chengdu 

Medical City is determined to plan its 

future development within a more 

comprehensive "coordinate system" 

and achieve significant leaps in 

comprehensive strength, openness, 

resource utilization, and development 

level.

成都医学城就园区基本情况、产业优势、创新资源、要素保障、生活场景等方面开展合作推介。近年来，成都医学城致力于建设全国一流的生物医药产业高地，主导发展医学、医药、医疗“三医融合”+大数据/AI产业，是成都市创新药、高端医疗器械、高端诊疗产业主要承载地和大数据与人工智能协同发展地，目前园区有医药健康企业582家，涵盖医学研发、药械制造、医疗服务领域。在新的前进征程上，成都医学城决心站在更高“坐标系”中谋划未来发展，实现综合实力、开放形态、要素运筹、园区能级的标志性“跃升”。

On September 20, a delegation of Irish 

companies visited the Tri-meds 

Innovation Center Phase III in Chengdu 

Medical City and had discussions with 

Boehringer Ingelheim Consanas 

(Chengdu) Rehabilitation Medical 

Center and other enterprises that 

established offices in Chengdu Medical 

City.

The "Chengdu-Europe Industry 

Dialogue" is a collection of events 

initiated and sponsored by the Foreign 

Affairs Office of Chengdu Municipal 

People's Government. These events 

include international conferences,

forums, exhibitions, negotiations, and 

other exchange activities with Europe. 

The purpose purpose is to promote and 

publicize key industrial fields, projects, 

functional areas, and investment 

opportunities in Chengdu. This aims 

to facilitate the matching of industrial 

resources and development needs 

between Chengdu and European 

countries, and to deepen the 

cooperation between industries and

businesses on both sides.The Foreign 

Affairs Office has collaborated with 

Chengdu's districts, county-level cities, 

and counties that have a clear interest 

in cooperating with Europe, based on 

the positioning of Chengdu's industrial 

functional zones. These events, 

combining online and offline 

interactions, aim to establish smooth 

channels of cooperation with Europe, 

enhance the level of cooperation, 

promote balanced exchanges, and help 

Chengdu accelerate the development 

of a comprehensive and multidimensional 

opening to Europe.

“蓉欧产业对话”是由成都市人民政府外事办公室发起主办的系列活动，通过举行国际会议、论坛、展会、洽谈会等对欧交流活动，宣传推介成都重点产业领域、重点产业项目、产业功能区和投资机会清单，促进成都与欧洲国家产业资源与产业发展需求匹配对接，推动双方持续深化产业务实合作。成都市人民政府外事办公室根据全市产业功能区定位，联合具有明确对欧合作需求的区（市）县举办“蓉欧产业对话”系列活动，通过线上线下互动结合，畅通全市对欧合作渠道，提升合作水平，推动对欧交流均衡开展，助力成都加快形成对欧立体全面开放新态势。
