On August 28, "The Way of Harmony" 

International Public Art Symposium, 

part of the 2023 Chengdu Europe 

Culture Season, was successfully 

concluded in Shou'an Town, Wenjiang 

District. During the 12-day cultural 

experience and mutual exchange, 12 

artists from China, the Netherlands, 

Italy, Hungary and Spain created 

marvelous works out of industrial or 

daily waste materials such as metal 

and wood. Wenjiang will permanently 

house the 13 sculptures that show the 

combination of ecology and art and 

the harmony between man and nature, 

of which 12 in Beilin area.

8月28日，2023成都·欧洲文化季子活动—“和合之道”国际公共艺术创作营在温江区寿安镇圆满闭幕。来自中国、荷兰、意大利、匈牙利、西班牙5个国家的12位艺术家，在为期12天的文化体验、相互交流中，利用金属、木材等工业或日常废弃材料“化腐朽为神奇”，13件展现生态与艺术相结合、反映人与自然和谐主题的雕塑作品永久落户温江（其中12件作品落户北林区域）。

New Dragon Wall         

(also known as Book of Nature)

《新龙壁》（又名《自然之书》）

The dragon wall is a famous and 

meaningful part of China's history 

and art. I want to propose a new 

dragon wall, which combines 

China's history, present and green 

future, and reuses metal materials 

to express these feelings. 

The world needs green transition. 

China is experimenting it in a 

variety of ways: The number of 

forests and trees in China is 

growing rapidly. China is leading 

the way in green energy transition. 

Over the next few years, climbing

plants will grow around the 

sculpture. The shape will be 

rounder and more natural. This 

kind of environment-friendly 

public sculpture will become 

increasingly natural. Nature and 

art will merge: The future is green.

阿德里安·里斯(荷兰) ：龙壁是中国历史和艺术中一个著名和有意义的部分。我想提出一个新的龙壁:结合中国的历史、当下和绿色的未来，并使用旧的金属材料来表达这些感受。

世界需要绿色过渡。中国正在以多种方式进行尝试:中国的森林和树木数量正在迅速增长。在能源绿色转型领域，中国也处于领先地位。在未来的几年里，攀缘植物将在雕塑周围生长。形状会更圆更自然。这种环保的公共雕塑将变得越来越自然。自然与艺术将合二为一：未来是绿色的。

As a witness of international cultural 

exchanges in Wenjiang District, the 

"Harmony-Integration" color-painted 

giant panda sculpture co-created by 

Chinese and foreign participating 

artists is 2.4 meters long, 1.3 meters 

high and 1 meter wide. It was 

donated by "The Way of Harmony" 

International Art Park to Wenjiang 

District and settled in Guanghua 

business area in the south, allowing 

residents to visit international art 

sculpture works at close range.

作为温江区国际文化交流的见证，参营中外艺术家共同创作的“和—融”彩绘熊猫雕塑长2.4米、高1.3米、宽1米，由“和合之道”国际艺术园区捐赠温江区，并落地南城光华商圈，让市民能够近距离打卡国际艺术雕塑作品。

The 2023 Chengdu Europe Culture 

Season—"The Way of Harmony" 

International Public Art Symposium 

was jointly hosted by the Foreign 

Affairs Office of Chengdu Municipal 

People's Government and the 

International Sculpture Symposium 

Alliance (ISSA), and co-organized 

by the Foreign Affairs Office of 

Chengdu Wenjiang District People's 

Government, Wenjiang Shou'an 

Township People's Government 

and other units. The symposium, 

the first of its kind in Sichuan 

Province, has staged five versions in 

Wenjiang District. It was officially 

included into ISSA in 2020. Based 

on the symposium, Shou'an Town 

of Wenjiang District has built "The 

Way of Harmony" International Art 

Park and transformed the roadside 

barren beach into "The Way of 

Harmony" International Art Park, 

which permanently houses more than 

60 masterpieces by participating 

artists from 10-plus countries. The 

works which are popular among the 

local people fully reflect the harmony 

between man and nature in the 

building of a park city, and express 

distinctive "endemicity" and 

"interaction."

2023成都·欧洲文化季—“和合之道”国际公共艺术创作营由成都市人民政府外事办公室和ISSA国际雕塑创作营联盟联合主办，成都市温江区人民政府外事办公室、成都市温江区寿安镇人民政府等单位共同承办。该创作营目前已在温江区成功举办5届，是四川省首个国际艺术创作营，并于2020年正式被纳入国际雕塑创作营联盟。温江区寿安镇依托该创作营打造了和合之道国际艺术园区，并将园区路边荒滩改建成“和合之道国际艺术公园”，永久放置参与创作营的十余国艺术家的60余件艺术佳作，深受当地群众喜爱，充分体现公园城市建设中人与自然的和谐相处，表达出鲜明的“在地性”与“互动性”。
