On the morning of March 16, 

the first session of the "Wenjiang, A Warm 

Family · Meet at Chinese Corner" event, 

hosted by the Foreign Affairs Office of 

Wenjiang District, was held successfully in 

the International Community of Wenjiang 

University Town, signifying the launch of 

Wenjiang's first dedicated spot for 

international residents to communicate in 

Chinese.

3月16日上午，由区外事办主办的“温江一家亲·‘域见’汉语角”首期活动在大学城国际化社区圆满举行，意味着温江首个外籍人士汉语交流点正式启用。

The event attracted more than 40 expatriates 

representing 12 different countries, all of 

whom reside, work, or study in Wenjiang. 

Certified instructors in Teaching Chinese 

to Speakers of Other Languages (TCSOL) 

were present to offer insights into Chengdu’s 

array of traditional cuisines, notable 

historical personalities, tourist attractions, 

and various distinctive cultural practices 

of both Chengdu and Wenjiang. This was 

done with the intent of enhancing the 

understanding and appreciation of Chengdu 

and Wenjiang among the participants, 

fostering smoother integration into the 

culturally rich and inviting atmosphere of 

the city.

本次活动吸引了在温生活、工作、留学的12个国家、40余名外籍人士报名。活动现场，邀请国际汉语教学资质的老师，通过分享成都、温江传统美食、历史人物、景点景区等特色文化，让大家进一步认识成都、了解温江，更好融入成都这座拥有丰厚文化底蕴、人文魅力的城市。

from Colombia shared the reason for her 

participation in the activity of "Wenjiang, 

A Warm Family · Meet at Chinese Corner". 

Before that, she had been learning Chinese 

by herself and listening to podcasts to 

practice Chinese listening. In her interactions 

with others at the event, she developed a

keen interest in Three Big Cannons, a classic 

Chengdu street food, and was eager to try it 

for herself.

“我非常喜欢汉语，想学好汉语，自己创业。”来自哥伦比亚的Sofia分享了自己参加“温江一家亲·‘域见’汉语角”的原因，此前，她一直在自学汉语，通过听播客练习汉语听力。和大家交流的过程中，她被成都的传统小吃三大炮深深吸引，迫不及待想去品尝。

Maitee, from Laos, is a student at 

Southwestern University of Finance and 

Economics. Having spent close to a year in 

Wenjiang, he shared with the reporter his 

profound impressions of Chengdu's urban 

identity and its unique regional treats. "The 

delicacies have broadened my understanding 

of the city where I reside," he said.

来自老挝的伟迪正在西南财经大学读书，他已在温江学习了近一年，他告诉记者，通过这次交流，他对成都的城市名字以及本地特色小吃印象深刻。“美食让我对生活在这里的城市了有更多了解。”

It is learned that the Foreign Affairs Office 

of Wenjiang District, together with the 

International Community of Wenjiang 

University Town, has made full use of the 

advantages of the Community Service Center 

for Expatriates to host this activity, which is 

a Chinese language learning and exchange 

platform for local foreigners. Here, overseas 

nationals can learn and communicate in 

Chinese, appreciate the traditional Chinese 

culture, and enhance communication and 

mutual understanding through frequent 

fellowship activities with Chinese residents, so 

as to better and faster integrate into local life.

据了解，“温江一家亲·‘域见’汉语角”是区外事办联合大学城国际化社区，充分利用“外籍人士社区服务中心”的优势，合作共建的在温外籍人士汉语学习一个交流平台。在这里，外籍人士不仅可以参与汉语的互动学习交流，领略中国传统文化的魅力，还能够在经常举行的中外市民联谊交往活动中增进沟通了解，更好、更快融入温江生活。

In addition, the International Community of 

Wenjiang University Town boasts a volunteer 

group made up of 33 international residents 

from Wenjiang. This group has consistently 

been involved in community service and 

volunteer work. As a result, the "Meet at 

Chinese Corner" event is set to welcome 

international participants from Wenjiang to 

enroll in the volunteer group on a long-term 

basis. The community hopes that more people 

will engage in the various community service 

activities it organizes, collectively spreading 

the city's goodwill. The aim is to foster a 

neighborhood vibe where Chinese and 

international residents are united like a warm 

family, working hand in hand to cultivate a 

joyful and splendid Wenjiang.

此外，大学城国际化社区拥有一支完全由在温生活的外籍朋友们组成的志愿队伍，已有33名成员，他们长期活跃在公益志愿服务事业中。因此，“域见”汉语角也将长期接收在温外籍人士报名加入到志愿队伍中，希望大家共同参与到社区组织的各类公益服务事业中，一同传递城市向善的薪火，营造“中外友人一家亲”的社区氛围，共建幸福美好的金温江。
